A well-kept secret has been created for 3 new models of GLOCK pistols, which will now expand the range of models of the traditional manufacturer. GLOCK has excelled in the field of polymer guns. But after all, the "producer" of the electronic polymer has continued to expand it over the years.
GLOCK now offers long sport, full size, compact and sub-compact models in .45 Auto, .45 GAP, 10mm Auto, .40 S&W, .357 SIG, 9mm Luger and .380 Auto calibers. Therefore, such a large selection of polymer pistols is unlikely to be available from other manufacturers...
The new GLOCK 45 in 9 mm Luger combines the large controls of the G17 with the short slide of the G19 - just like the GLOCK 19X.

Another new model is the Glock 45 in the universal 9mm Luger caliber. Similar to the GLOCK 19X, the base has a G17 size grip, which has a magazine capacity of 17 rounds.
The brand new G45 handle is based on the Generation 5 version. So it comes without finger grooves, which some shooters find useful. In the back, he got a little tube, which is easy to get into the magazine.
The slide grip of the G45 is also available on both sides, making it easier for lefties to work in both strong and weak hand positions.
While the grip grooves in the front slide area were only available on the limited edition G17 and 19 FS models, the GLOCK now seems to have changed in its own right. So the loading of the weapon, the possible removal of the jam or the check of the state of readiness (pistol pressure check) can also be done from the front. The deep black, abrasion-resistant nDLC coating is also found on the Glock 45 slide.
Do Glocks Have Safeties?
In short: the new G45 has the power of the G17 with a smaller size, which is also ergonomically improved. The compact crossover pistol boasts all the advantages of the GLOCK Gen5 pistol model.

The 5th generation GLOCK pistols now all have catch grooves in front of the slide, which allows for easy loading and control of the slide.

Those in the know know that sooner or later GLOCK will "upgrade" the G17 and 19 Gen4 MOS to Gen 5. With a length of 114mm (G17) and 102mm (G19) and magazines available capacity of 17 and 15 rounds, these are probably the best selling new products from GLOCK.
By the way, the acronym MOS stands for Modular Optical System. The GLOCK 19 Gen5 MOS is not particularly suitable for concealed carry. Of course it can now also be equipped with a small MRDS (Mini Red Dot Sight).
